New York has their own way of approaching the Undying Society, one common to America. In countries around the world the politics, the taboos and even the traditions might be slightly different. Most depending on local politics and culture.
Conservative Ways
A majority of places that hasn’t changed since 1860 tend have these following approaches. The Conservative Ways are focused on protecting the most important diplomats of each Clan, but still see through casual assassinations.
Traditions
Diablerie of the unwilling is forbidden.
Taboos
Murder of Eminent or Prominent Socialites is a taboo.
Not showing the proper respect to a Status.
Weapons are not allowed on the Elysium Grounds.
Attacking/Disrespecting Elysium Staff.
Interfering with a Trial or the Council Meeting.
Progressive Reforms
Many newer areas are determined by general progressive approach to the Undying Society. Usually shown by expanding rights of the individual clan member. Such places tend to far less deadly as life tends to valued much more.
Traditions
Diablerie of the unwilling and the Blood Bonded is forbidden.
Taboos
Murder of other Socialites is a huge taboo.
Not showing the proper respect to a Status.
Attacking/disrespecting Elysium Staff shows disrespect to Undying Society.
No Weapons or Stakes are allowed on the Elysium grounds.
Interfering with a Trial or the Council Meeting.
New York Specific
Not only is New York a Progressive City when it comes to its politics but its heavily influenced by having religious beliefs, especially from the Cult of Perfection.
Taboos
Not agreeing on a Taboo is very eccentric and can be shunned as much as doing the Taboo itself.
A Clan that frequently is the culprit of stirring the Hunters is seen as weak.
