Connections

When you live for a very long time, the things that are stable in your life are appreciated the most. Humans thrive on stability and Vampires no less. 

Each Character has Connections that keep them from going insane. These Connections represent pillars in your day to day life, they might not constitute the biggest of friendships or a friendship at all. In case of an Item it’s important that you bring the Item ingame and that it can be stolen.

A Connection can be an Item, another player Character or a human. Both the Connection and Item must be at the larp if possible. If you have a Connection to a human it also becomes one of your Secrets and must be mentioned with their name. (So someone can exploit you through Intrigues)

Examples of Connections:

A friend through the ages. A local vampire that’s always around. A necklace you’ve worn for decades. 

Secrets

A Secret is a more than just a Secret, there are demands to how you make a secrets as well as mechanics that make Secrets come into play through various ways. When making a Secret we have strict rules as to make sure that the Secret is relevant not only to your Character, but to the game at large.

Rules to making a Secret

  1. The Secret must have something to do with any theme of the game that we have mentioned, the core themes are Ambition, Loyalty, Power Dynamics and Horror. Each Clan also sport their own themes, you can be inspired by all of them as well, even if your own Clan does not focus on them.
  2. The Secret must be of such value that your Character wouldn’t risk anyone else finding it out, e.i it must be blackmail material.
  3. The Secret must be obvious enough so that any member of the Undying Society would find the Secret of some importance. Here its important to think like a Vampire, what is important to a Vampire? We want to avoid insular Secrets where its a very specific plot between few Characters.

Examples of Secrets

Secrets can be broad and clearly obvious to anyone no matter the situation:

I often breaks a specific Taboo.

I have an addiction to Blood.

I have killed another member of the Undying Society and not received repurcussions.

I am loyal to another Clan.

I am trying to become Clan Leader.

Secrets can also be Secrets because of circumstance and context.

I (A Revenant) deeply despise Clan Nephilim, and will undermine their reform, despite the repurcussions to my Clan.

I have a Connection to someone from a different Clan and will go to great lengths in order to keep them safe.

Imperial Records: A Dracul Flaw.

Hunted: A Ghul Flaw.

Imperial Agent: A Dracul Title.

Branch Manager of Foreign Affairs: A Revenant Title.

Library of Secrets: A Ghul Trait.

Torture: An Intrigue.

Seduce: An Intrigue.
