Nephilim

A Clan of shadow and purpose, created out of vengeance, their sole objective has been the elimination of mages and their orders. To do so they have forsaken all magical practice and gained the help from the shadows themselves to defeat this foe.

Over time they have created allies and enemies in their crusade, yet many see them as the moral high ground of the Undying Society. But they are zealous, willing to go to extremes to fulfill their goals.

They now face a reality that has been a long time coming. They haven’t succeeded in their purpose, what will become of the Clan and how will the prospect of a new goal change the foundation itself?

ST Note: Clan Nephilim plays with the idea of being a warrior Clan in political turmoil. No matter how single minded a fighter your Character is, you are expected to take a position in the internal political conflict. For you it’s important to figure out which Reform your Character subscribes to, and how the Nephilim needs to change to fit that viewpoint.

Traits

Holy Warriors

Each act of evil is one step closer to the light of redemption. But when you do not seem to be moving any steps it is because you forgot to act.

The chance of losing 1 Sanity at Checkin is 20% instead of 10%.

Soulless Oath

The Nephilim swore a disturbing oath as they killed their king, an oath that gave them their shadowy powers and protection from the magical.

The first Ritual cast upon you is Dispelled. Soulless Oath only Dispell a Ritual once per evening.

You can spend a Blood Point to suppress Soulless Oath whenever you are struck by a Ritual, so it does not Dispell that Ritual.

(Does not work against Perfection Rituals while participating in the Mass)

Vault of Sin

There’s secret Vaults everywhere, filled to the brim with magically touched items. They were placed there by the Nephilim who’ve yet to find a way to purge these items.

Speakers have access to a Vault of Sin which is filled with Ritual Components

Any Speaker can put Components in the Vault. It’s not possible to use the Steal Components Intrigue on the Vault.

Clan Powers

Obscuration(Discipline), Devotion(Discipline), Kinesthesia(Discipline).

Clan Agenda

Usually Clan Nephilim spends its time hunting for relics and rogue mages. But the Clan is now holding a Covenant in New York with the goal to address the turmoil within the Clan and reform it. If reform fails it will end in revolution.

Clan Structure

Packs. Clan Nephilim is divided into many small groups called Packs, each is led by a Speaker who is the Pack member with most Honor. Advancement within is based on your own honor or another’s failure. The Clan is currently very corrupt by its lack of purpose, many misuses their gifts and few hold belief in the old ways. Yet everyone wants things to change.

Clan Embrace

Every Character has had an Embrace where they went from a Mortal without knowledge to a Vampire with knowledge, here we look into what kind of Character would usually be Embraced into the Nephilim.

Deserving of Eternity – You were a mortal Hunter serving the Nephilim trying to hunt down mages and rogue supernatural entities. The hunting has been quiet most of your life, but some still decided to reward you for your efforts or perhaps allegiance.

The Right Tool – You excelled in a field useful for the Nephilim, usually this means a shady field like espionage and assassinations. But maybe they didn’t recruit you for the hunt, just for personal gain.

Chosen by Nepotism – Honestly you weren’t chosen for anything besides personal relations, you were a friend, brother, sister and a Nephilim decided that you should live forever.

Clan Organization

Each Clan has its own Organization of humans who they turn into Blood Servants to serve them. When using Bind Humans in the Storytellers Room you can Bind them from your Clan Organization.

Name: The Midnight Brethren.

Intrigues: Assassinate, Frame, Investigate, Steal Component.

3 Influence: Hunter Bribes – You always know what the next Hunter Event entails. You can pay different Resources to put the next Hunter Event in the bottom of the deck. This Bribe starts at the cost of 2 and increases by 2 each time any Character pays the Bribe, to a maximum of 8. The cost and Hunter Event deck resets at the start of each Session. Below is what each Resource is worth bribing the local Hunters with.

Blood Points = 1
Trivial Components = 1
Blood Servants = 2
Uncommon Components = 2
Rare Components = 4
Mythic Components = 8

Lore: The Midnight Brethren is the smallest of the main three Hunter organizations. The Midnight Brethren is actually being owned by the Nephilim and spends their time in the hunting of rogue mages and supernatural phenomenon created by them.
