Themes

This story takes place in New York 2023, your Character is a member of both the Undying Society and one of the six Clans. It’s a dog eat dog world filled with amoral and gray Characters. Besides being  a supernatural Vampire or Ghoul your Character is still human on the inside, with human needs and problems.

The themes have a dark and adult nuance and therefore this is not a larp for the lighthearted. The themes of this larp are Ambition, Loyalty, Power Dynamics and Horror. Each Clan has minor themes as well, they are simple additions to these major themes and gives an idea of what playing the Clan is about.

Ambition

The main conflict derives from Ambition. All Characters are ambitious, they want to achieve something. This is the essential drive and destruction for the supernatural, it will be ever present. 

Loyalty

Relations between Characters are a huge foundation for the stakes in this larp’s conflicts. Without loyalty to friends, family or your Clan any Ambition lacks dramatic impact. Therefore there are many approaches to loyalty, in hopes of breaking them later on. 

Power Dynamics

There are both Characters of immense prestige and social outcasts. It is a larp of power dynamics, how to deal with being the bottom of the pyramid and the top of it. Social repercussions such as shame, guilt and expectations are heavily featured.

Horror

The Supernatural, evil deeds, and general fear is a large part of this larp. Grueling blood rituals and violent cannibalism can take place, disturbing meetings where you fear for life is not uncommon. We have made this larp so it welcomes uncertainty and paranoia, enter at your own risk.
