Main Plot: The Nephilim Reform

Clan Nephilim is congregating in New York for one grand Covenant. They seek to reform their Clan from old glory to a new pride, this Reform will take about 3 years and might change the entire world.

Each Reform has a Popularity from the start. After every year the three Reforms with the lowest Popularity are discarded and their Popularity is transferred to Reforms most like them. The three Reforms left will determine how the Clan Reforms or if it breaks into Civil War.

The Nephilim have a unique mechanic that can add additional change to each reform, you can look at the bottom of this page for additional information of possible consequences.

Reform Boxes At each Checkout every Character can deposit their Blood Points, Blood Servants and Feast Tokens into one of the nine Reform Boxes. This represents their Character influencing the Reforms Popularity during the upcoming month.

Reforms

Swords to Plowshares Popularity – About 510

The least extreme is to do nothing, whatever is happening now is a natural part of the end, the hunt is soon over and we should be grateful while learning to rest on the laurels of victory.

Anti-Corruption Popularity – About 480

The inherent selfishness and corruption that has become a wrench in the Clans machinery is a known and hated problem. Through this Reform they will rid the Clan of its corrupting elements.

Ideas: Code of Conduct, Divisions, Grand Speaker, Legatus.

Modern Solutions Popularity – About 440

The Clan’s goal can never truly succeed, there will always be magic, and mages can arise out of nothing as they’ve always done. We need to take a different role in that process if we cannot eradicate it.

Ideas: Code of Conduct, Control the Magi, Divisions, Grand Speaker, Right to Speak.

Expanded Societal Integration Popularity – About 350

In our zealous quest for destruction we have brought about unforeseen creation. We must keep nurturing our relations with The Undying Society if we ever seek to inhabit a future on this earth.

Guiding Hand Popularity – About 270

Magic is evil, but only because it creates acts of evil. It is a tool, and like a tool we should direct it instead of destroy it, we should use our moral superiority to become the guiding hand.

Ideas: Control the Magi, Right to Speak, Shadowhunter.

The Next Step Popularity – About 240

Amongst the more extreme ideas is that of evolving the clan from Mage hunting to a general hunting of all things touched by magic, including vampires.

Ideas: Legatus, Shadowhunter, Vow of Violence.

Ideas

Each Reform can have several Ideas on them, these Ideas change Clan Nephilim in a specific way, should the Reform be the one voted through.

Clan Rules: Code of Conduct
We need to be inspired by the honor system that has been shaping our clan, but we should no longer be slaves to it. We need to be prepared for these modern nights, and not be hindered by an antiquated set of rules. The honor that we seek should be personal. You might lie to an enemy or outsider, but never to a clan member. You might speak ill of an opponent from another clan behind their back, but you voice your displeasure to your clan member face to face. Be honorful to your clan, but do not feel honorbound towards outsiders.
Reforms: Anti-Corruption, Modern Solutions.
Clan Goal: Control the Magi
Clan Nephilim will no longer have as its stated goal to eradicate all mages and magic. We will instead take it upon ourselves to become its regulators, and if need be its jailors. We will not lose our prejudice that magic is a fast route to evil deeds. But there can be some leeway in its applications. Stamp out evil magicks, but do so with cause. All of this must be done to accept and find our role in an ever changing modern world, and a society that we are now a part of.
Reforms: Guiding Hand, Modern Solutions.
Clan Structure: Divisions
The members of the clan are divided into Divisions. Each City hub is ruled by a leader who has the right to speak and act for the clan. This leader rules as long as they have enough backup. The recognized members of the clan are called First Speaker(leader), Speakers(officers), Shadow and Soldier in descending order of authority. The non-regonized are called Oathless, and the ones who are out of favor are called Coward.
Reforms: Anti-Corruption, Modern Solutions.
Clan Leadership: Grand Speaker
We need a strong leader, a secure leader in every grand hub of the Undying Society. The Clan Leader is responsible for the direction of the Covenant. They have the power to make decisions on behalf of the Covenant but must justify these for the Covenant if requested by an honourable member.
The leader of the Clan will be chosen by a minimum of three trials, or one per pack, whatever is highest. Every honourable clan member can vote on which trial shall be instituted. The trials shall be set at the Covenant meeting a month prior.
Reforms: Anti-Corruption, Modern Solution.
New Title: Legatus
The Legatus runs the military of the Nephilim and makes sure that the enemies of the Clan are weak, controlled or destroyed. The Legatus is a commander, a general and a warlord, if they determine that it is the needs of the Clan. The Legatus is also a second Clan Leader, creating a twin rulership with any other existing Clan Leader.
Such a Twin Rulership can result in a veto based rulership, a consensus based rulership, or a non-compliant based rulership.
Reforms: Anti-Corruption, The Next Step.
Clan Meeting: Right to Speak
The ceremonies will include the possibility for every member of the clan who cannot normally speak at the proceedings, except cowards, to speak their mind and be heard.
Reforms: Guiding Hand, Modern Solutions.
New Title: Shadowhunter
A shadowhunter shall be put forth by a majority of speakers, with the express purpose of acquirering components used for magical rituals. These are to be locked away in the vault of sins. Retrieving anything from the vault of sins require a majority of speakers of packs present and active in the city. This shadow hunter may enlist member of the undying society, regardless of clan, for this express purpose.
Reforms: Guiding Hand, The Next Step.
Clan Goal: Vow of Violence
If the clan, and Undying Society by extension, chooses to enact this reform, Clan Nephilim will ally itself with the Inquisition and all other hunter organizations to remove every trace of magic from this world. Nephilim will have no half measures in this final crusade. Be warned any who will see this future enacted. For if this should be the end, we will make it such an end, as the world has never seen.
Reforms: The Last Step, The Next Step.

Political Consequences

There are many ways the reform can turn out, not just for how the Clan is going to look, but if its gonna go peaceful or not.

The Disenfranchised

The Disenfranchised represent the Nephilim globally who have been left behind in the reforms. The Disenfranchised might become a problem later on. If Civil War breaks out within Clan Nephilim, a Speaker representing a side in the war may adopt a group of Disenfranchised but will ultimately change their side in the Civil War.

Disenfranchised Reforms
Shadow State Popularity – About 50
The Nephilim must become more than just hunters, we must ensure an everlasting legacy. An autocratic shadow state that can rival the political might of both The Dracul Empire and the Undying Syndicate.
The Last Step Popularity – About 30
A spiritual extreme of the next step is that the cleansing of all magic ends with the ritualistic suicide of the entire Clan.
Reforms: Vow of Violence.
Isolationist Popularity – About 20
It’s clear that the Undying Society is a distraction for our Clan, it incentivises greed and corruption, something that has been going on far too long in this Clan.

Civil War

Civil War within Clan Nephilim might erupt for two different reasons.

  1. If the three reforms that are left are incompatible, the Civil War breaks out immediately.
  2. If Civil War does not break out, any Speaker may choose to start the Civil War by gathering the Disenfranchised, in which case the civil war happens a couple of months later.

War in the Shadows

The War in the Shadows is Clan Nephilim vs The Undying Society. This War can start for several reasons.

  1. The Nephilim in New York escalate the Nephilim vs. Ghul War to step 3.
  2. The Nephilim Civil War has started, one side either has Next Step or Last Step and decides to act against the Undying Society or the Society meddles to much in the Civil War.
  3. The Nephilim Reform ended without Civil War and the Next Step or Last Step was voted through the war will start.
