Clan Nephilim and Clan Ghul are so hated enemies that without the Undying Society they would be in the midst of a long and bloody conflict with each other. There are several reasons for why both sides do not start an all out war with other, below we will go through the reasons and what would happen if one or the other fails to uphold peace. This has led to a sort of proxy war between both Clans.
Why Nephilim isn’t Attacking
The simplest explanation is that Clan Ghul is protected by the Undying Society all other Clans have reasons to find Ghul a valuable member, while not everyone agrees with Ghuls practices or philosophies they all seem to reap the benefits of magic. Starting a war with Clan Ghul will give all the other Clans a necessary reason for the destruction of Clan Nephilim, a war in which Nephilim would be severely outmatched.
Why Ghul isn’t Attacking
Oh it would be greatest of burdens off their shoulders to just get rid of their immortal enemies, but the Undying Society has rules and aspirations, foremost is peace and prosperity between the Clans. A war is neither of those, and starting one will ostracize Clan Ghul and leave them unprotected from both their homeland and the Undying Society.
Escalation
At this larp there will be a representation of how far the Characters have Escalated the situation between Ghul and Nephilim.
- Whenever members of each Clan does something against the other Clan that is directly violent and either include to many targets or very important targets, then it will increase their own Clans Escalation to the next step. Look below for Examples of Escalation.
- A Mistake – A Clan Leader of the Nephilim or Ghul can go into the Storytellers Room and declare that a certain action done by the other Clan will not increase their Escalation. Can only be done during the same Session the action was done.
- Calm the Society – The Director of Clan Revenant can at the start of Step: 0 of their Clan Meeting pay 15 Blood Points from the Blood Tax to reduce the Escalation by 1 Step for one Clan. The Director can do this once per Session.

- Affecting the other Clan with several Curses.

- The murder of a member of the other Clan.
