Blood Bonding & Diablerie

Blood Bonding

Drinking vampiric blood creates a supernatural bond of loyalty. No one knows why this is so, but as it seemingly helps Vampires with their existence no one is complaining.

  • If you drink undiluted blood from a Vampire till you gain a Blood Point, you become Blood Bonded to that Vampire or increase the Bond you already have to them by 1 Step. You can’t be Blood Bonded to the same Character this way more than once every 10 minutes.
  • At each Checkin there’s a Moderate chance to reduce each Blood Bond by 1 step.
Step                 Description
1Friend
You do not want to act hurtful towards the vampire.
2Loyal
You do not want to act hurtful towards the vampire and you can be forced into any favor or task that does not directly physically hurt another person or yourself.
3Fanatical
You can never participate in a Conflict against the Vampire, even if you are attacked you simply have no Prowess. You can be forced into any favor or task that does not directly hurt yourself physically.

Lore: Strength of Blood
Despite being filled with empowered blood of Vampires, the Ghouls and Blood Servant can’t create a Blood Bond with their own blood. The reason is simple, the blood they have received has been mixed and diluted within their own corpus.

On the other hand Clan Agamemnons blood doesn’t have any additional effects on either Vampires, Ghouls or Blood Servants despite having an allure to the human masses.

Diablerie

Ever craved ultimate power? Don’t care about waiting for it? You could just skip right to it, with the proper plan for not being noticed.

If you are a Vampire you can choose to drink another Staked Vampire completely dry.

If you do the other Vampire will die horribly and the following will happen:

  • Gain 1 level in a Discipline the victim had, if that Discipline was of a higher level than what you have.
  • Consuming a Vampire is maddening, you lose 1 Sanity.
  • Ýou also become addicted to Diablerie.

Be advised that Diablerie is punishable by death in the Undying Society, though it can be quite difficult to detect if you are careful.

Lore: Diablerie and the Soul
Some say the soul exist, some go even further and claim that Diablerie consumes the soul. There is no definitive proof for either cases.
